Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh wreaked havoc on LSG bowlers with his stormy innings. He scored 69 runs in just 34 balls at a strike rate of 202. During this innings, he hit a four that reminded everyone of the movie Lagaan.

The 13th match of IPL 2025 was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings. In this match held at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow batted first and set a target of 172 runs. While chasing this, Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh wreaked havoc on LSG bowlers with his stormy innings. He scored 69 runs in just 34 balls at a strike rate of 202. During this, he hit a four that reminded everyone of the film Lagaan. His innings made the match one-sided. Not only this, Prabhsimran also made the record of making the fastest fifty in Lucknow during this innings. The boy on whom Preity Zinta had shown faith has finally started showing his flair.

Fastest fifty in Lucknow

Prabhsimran Singh started the innings for Punjab Kings and showed his attitude by hitting 1 four and a six in the very first over. After this, he did not stop and kept on hitting sixes and fours continuously. In this way, he scored a half-century in just 23 balls. With this, he also made the record of scoring the fastest half-century on the ground of Lucknow. Earlier this record was in the name of Sunil Narine, who scored a fifty in 27 balls at the Ekana Stadium. Even after this, Prabhsimran did not stop and kept playing aggressively, but he became the victim of Digvesh Singh Rathi after scoring 69 runs in the 11th over.

Also shot a shot from the movie Lagaan

During this brilliant innings, he hit 3 sixes and 9 fours, in which one four was hit just like in the movie Lagaan. Actually, in the 8th over, he had already shuffled towards the off stump on Ravi Bishnoi's ball. Bishnoi then bowled a full toss ball in the same line, on which Prabhsimran easily played a scoop shot and scored a four. This shot looked exactly like the one in the movie Lagaan. The commentators also mentioned this.

Preity Zinta showed confidence

Prabhsimran Singh was the biggest hero for Punjab in this match. His innings made the team's victory easy. Punjab chased the target of 172 runs in just 98 balls. However, all this is the result of Preity Zinta's trust. Prabhsimran is not able to play such strong and big innings consistently. Despite this, team owner Preity Zinta expressed confidence in him and has kept him in the team for 6 consecutive seasons. Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, the franchise had released all the big names. But Preity Zinta retained him at a price of 4 crores and today Prabhsimran has lived up to her trust.
