New Delhi: Mumbai batter Musheer Khan is likely to be out of Irani Trophy after the batter suffered a fracture in a road accident according to reports. The 19-year-old who grabbed the limelight in the U-19 World Cup earlier this year and in the Duleep Trophy was all set to represent the Ranji Trophy champions against Rest of India in the Irani Trophy. He is also the brother of India batter Sarfaraz Khan. With no Musheer in the middle order Mumbai are forced to make plans sans the right-hander. Based on the reports Musheer was travelling to Lucknow from Kanpur with his father Naushad Khan. However the details of the accident are yet to come out in public. Meanwhile his elder brother Sarfaraz (who made his India debut against England earlier this year) is a part of the Indian squad against Bangladesh in the ongoing Test series. Sarfaraz has also been named in the Mumbai squad for Irani Trophy. “He didnt travel with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably travelling from Azamgarh with his father to Lucknow when the accident happened” a source was quoted as saying to TOI.
