Following his 28-run haul off Mitchell Starc’s one over in the fourth One-Day International (ODI) between Australia and England on Friday at the Lord’s in London, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone may well cause the Australian bowler some nightmares, much as it did for Rohit Sharma.

In a rain-plagued 39-over match, Livingstone’s attack saw the hosts surpass 300 runs.
Livingstone struck a massive six over long on to start the over in a positive mood, but he was then dismissed by a delivery that was too short. Starc hit three more sixes and a boundary to close the over, just as it seemed like he would end it on a high note.

England reached a massive 312/5 thanks to a 71-run sixth-wicket partnership between Livingstone and Jacob Bethell. View the video by clicking this link:

In the third ODI against Australia, Livingstone struck an undefeated 33 off 20 deliveries, and he repeated the feat in the fourth. He also got rid of Glenn Maxwell throughout the game, allowing him to reach only two runs.

The most number of runs an Australian bowler has ever given up in an ODI over is 28, set by Starc. Earlier, in separate matches, Xavier Doherty, Adam Zampa, and Cameron Green each let up 26 runs to other teams.

After being called in to bat first by Mitchell Marsh, Ben Duckett’s 63, captain Harry Brook’s 87, and Livingstone’s barrage enabled England to record a mammoth 312/5. Matthew Potts claimed four wickets as Australia was knocked out for a pitiful 126 in the chase.

England rallied to win the third and fourth ODIs after losing the first two, and the series finale will take place in Bristol on Sunday, September 29.

Livingstone, meanwhile, tied Andrew Flintoff for the most sixes in an inning in an ODI at Lord’s thanks to his attack in the penultimate over.
