Centre is going to launch a government taxi platform on the lines of taxi services like Ola-Uber very soon. This was announced by Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah in his speech in the Lok Sabha. Speaking in Parliament Shah emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision of prosperity through cooperation is not just a slogan. He said The Ministry of Cooperation has been working tirelessly for the last 3 and a half years to make it a reality. As the head of this newly created ministry Shahs goal is to strengthen the cooperative movement across the country. Amit Shah in Lok Sabha enumerated the formation of the Ministry of Cooperation and the work done by the ministry after that. During his answer Shah said The government is going to start a cooperative taxi platform like Ola-Uber very soon in the coming few months. Which will also register two-wheelers rickshaws and four-wheelers. Its profit will not go into the hands of any rich people... but will go directly to the driver. Shah also said in the House Within a very short time we are going to form a cooperative insurance company which will insure all the cooperative systems across the country. I say with confidence that after the formation of this company in a short time it will become the largest insurance company in the private sector. If this new cooperative taxi platform proposed by the government is launched India will become the first country in the world to provide a government-backed cooperative alternative to private ride-hailing services. Such cooperative taxi services are not available in any other country in the world. India has a successful history of cooperative ventures the most notable name being Amul which made India the worlds largest milk producer and the 8th largest dairy company globally.
